Hey everybody (and, by "everybody" I mean, "chris") thanks for keeping me updated. I've been reading Basketbawful; but, it's always a few days late (so I just stay quiet). I am so excited about Cheikh Samb being on the Knicks.
However, here are the limitations I've discovered with NBA 2k9:
I can do an exhibition game between the two All-Star teams; but, you can't adjust their rosters.
I might be able to adjust the rosters of some of the All-Star teams from earlier eras (50s/60s, 70s, 80s or 90s) to still get the All-Star Weekend feel of the arena and uniforms and so forth.
Or, I can create two teams for which I set the rosters. I can set them up however we want; but, they'll have non-descript uniforms that may not even have logos or team names on them. I actually like that aspect of it. They're lacktioneers, they would probably have to order their own jerseys from Eastbay, anyway - and, pay out of their own pockets. Also, because the 2k9 Create-A-Team logo options are so limited, I've already named the two teams "Positive Stat Erasers" and "Let's Go Bowling."
Another option is the 5 on 5 streetball game that would not even be in the arena.
Also, very disappointing, the only way to do a dunk contest or three point contest is to do it in streetball (or set up a whole season and wait until the All-Star Break, therefore NOT guaranteeing who's in it). I really wanted to do a re-make of the dunk contest and/or a three-point showdown between Antoine Walker and Antoine Walker. I still intend to get a special Toine-Toine three-point show; but, it won't be as exciting. And, I can't seem to duplicate players for the streetball contest. I'm thinking of doing a season where every player is an Antoine Walker clone. Then, the All-Star break will be All-Toine. Oh, man, I just thought of that... I'm doing THAT as soon as I get home from work. I hope I can!!!
Anyway, I'm thinking, create two teams and pit them against each other in an exhibition match. I'm going to do one game where everybody plays as originally rated; and, one where they're all edited to the lowest overall skill rating (here's hoping for '00'); and, I can't wait to see how the two compare.
You're right about the widescreen format on YouTube. It is significantly better. I'll post it on YouTube. I definitely want it to be a 48 minute game, which automatically makes each quarter too long for YouTube posting. To get around the 10 minute time allowance, I guess, I can do, like, "1st Quarter (parts I & II)," etc.
Otherwise, since I am currently learning html (though not that well, as revealed by my earlier attempt to link to myself in 'bawful comments), I will look into the details of posting video on my own website. Then, I will make a website for those videos.
I'll post the updates here; so, keep being my one and only reader.
